THERM-BG Black Globe Temperature Probe
The Black Globe Temperature Probe measures radiant temperature for heat stress calculations, such as urban heat island effects, livestock wellbeing, and other instances where radiant temperatures measurements are needed.
The THERM-BG is ideally suited for use in the calculation of heat stress in key environments such as urban (people) and agriculture (livestock and employees).
It comprises a thermistor centrally positioned inside a 6″ (15cm) hollow copper sphere painted matt black. Black Globe Temperature, in conjunction with humidity and ambient air temperature measurements, is used in the calculation of wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT), a measure of heat stress.
Fully compatible with the ICT International MFR-Node and the Datalogger/Node Platform, the ability to display near real-time measurements of heat stress factors via the Dataview Dashboard is a powerful tool in decision making and management of heat effects.
