Psychrometer Accessories

ICT International offer a range of accessories:

• The PSY-IK Psychrometer Installation Kit provides the necessary components for the installation of both PSY1-Stem Psychrometer and PSY1-Leaf Psychrometer.Please note: the PSY-IK Psychrometer Installation Kit does not include the Stem Clamps and the Leaf Clamp, that have to be ordered separately.
• The Psychrometer clamps and osmotic potential insulator (OPI) are recommended accessories to secure the chamber in place during the installation. The clamps ensures that the chamber remains intact to a plant stem or leaf, while the OPI houses the chamber to provide a thermally insulated boundary.

Psychrometer Installation kit

The contents of the PSY-IK have been specified to ensure consistent installation of PSY1 Psychrometers. The contents align with the steps described in the User Manual.

Provided in a toolbox for easy transport, and to ensure all parts are kept together for repeat installations and general maintenance. Details are found under the Description Tab.

Psychrometer Clamps

The Psychrometer clamps are designed to hold the chamber securely in place against the xlyem. Available for stem or leaf chambers the clamps are available in different sizes:

• PSY1-Stem Psychrometer Clamps
  The parts of the psychrometer clamping device includes the 1 frame, 2 hex screws, 1 moveable jaw attached to the jaw screw. The psychrometer chamber is attached to the frame using the hex screws.  The gap between the chamber and moveable jaw can be adjusted according to the stem diameter. They are available in three (3) different sizes: small, medium and large.
  • Small stem psychrometer (PSYS-C37) – for stem sizes between 10 and 37 mm in diameter
  • Medium stem psychrometer (PSYS-C77) – for stem sizes between 30 and 77 mm in diameter
  • Large Stem Clamp (PSYS-C125) – for stem sizes between 78 and 125mm in diameter
• PSY1-Leaf Psychrometer Clamps
  Leaf clamps come in 2 sizes with unique part numbers.

PSY1 Osmotic Potential Insulator (PSY-OPI)

The stem psychrometer chamber can also be used in determining the osmotic potential of plant materials such as leaves and stem. The Osmotic Potential Insulator (PSY-OPI) provides a thermally insulated boundary around the chamber.

In effect, this eliminates the introduction of thermal gradients caused by a need to handle the chamber to load samples and provides a stable insulated thermal buffer from ambient temperature gradients within the surrounding environment. Removing these factors enables a very rapid equilibration time between samples and high accuracy of measurement from -0.1 MPa to -10 MPa.

PSY-IK

Provided in a toolbox for easy transport, and to ensure all parts are kept together for repeat installations and general maintenance.

Tools and parts included in the PSY-IK Installation Kit

The PSY1 Installation Kit comes in a Toolbox (as per picture above), containing the following items:

1x	1 Molal NaCl Solution – to soak the paper filter discs for calibration verification
10x	Filter Paper Discs –  to insert in the PSY1 chamber for calibration verification
20x	Rubber Bands – to secure the calibration lid on the psychrometer chamber
1x	Masking Tape – to seal the calibration lead on the psychrometer chamber
1x	Packet of Kimwipes – clean dirt and grease close to the chamber, and to dry the installation site after washing it
1x	Wash Bottle – to fill with distilled water (not supplied) to clean the installation site, and the chamber if needed
1x	Tube Dow Corning Vacuum Grease – used to slightly grease the rim of the psychrometer chamber, and to seal installation site
1x	Roll of Aluminum Foil – use as first inner layer of chamber insulation after installation
1x	MicroSD Adapter – read data from the psychrometer SD Card on a laptop

PSYL-LC – recommended to attach the Leaf Psychrometer (PSY-Leaf) chamber on leaf samples in-situ.

Specifications:

The PSYS-LC is compatible with the stem psychrometer chamber (PSY-Stem) in case the end-user wants to attach it on leaf samples in-situ.
