Cone Penetrometers for measuring soil compaction
The CP range of Cone Penetrometers from Rimik are used for measuring soil compaction. Applications include geotechnical assessment and accurate mapping of soil profiles. With an internal logging function, the CP200, CP300 and CP40II are capable of storing up to 2046 readings (CP40II).
The CP200 and CP300 Cone Penetrometers include a 2 line x 16 character Screen with USB Connectivity, and the Rimik Penetrometer Reader Software. For measurement, included are a two piece Stainless Steel shaft (either ASAE 130mm² or European Standard 100mm² cone) and associated wear guide.
The CP40II provides enhanced user functions such as user selectable site name, and two load Cell Size options. The display is a multi-line graphic display. Additionally to record the location of samples, the CP40II includes a GPS unit for increased accuracy.

The three versions offer different accuracies and logging storage capacities:
CP200:
- Ultrasonic depth measurement ±5mm accuracy.
- Storage for 50 insertions with ±2% of full scale accuracy.
- Single depth increment of 25mm.
- Power supply 2xAAA NiMh rechargeable batteries.
CP300:
- Ultrasonic depth measurement ±2mm accuracy.
- Storage for 500 insertions with ±0.5% of full scale accuracy.
- User selectable depth increments.
- Power supply 2xAA NiMh rechargeable batteries.
CP40II:
- Ultrasonic depth measurement ±1mm accuracy.
- Storage for 2046 insertions with ±0.25% of full scale accuracy.
- User selectable depth increments.
- Power supply: 1x 6V, 3AH SLA battery.
