The Temperature Sensor Meter (TSM2) is a stand-alone data logging instrument for the measurement of air, soil, solution, leaf, canopy or surface temperature.
The TSM2 can support up to 9 Thermistors. For all sensors temperature is recorded as Degrees Celsius (°C).
Thermistor excitation voltage is measured at every measurement interval for increased accuracy, this voltage reading is used in the thermistor scripts to remove errors introduced from possible voltage fluctuations.
- The TSM2 is a fully self-contained unit requiring power input from a solar panel (field applications) or 24V power supply (glasshouse applications).
- All data is stored within the unit on a removable MicroSD card.
- Communication with the TSM2 is made either by USB or wireless connection.
- The TSM2 is compatible with the ICT Combined Instrument Software. The software is GUI based and extremely user-friendly. This software allows complete control of the TSM2 such as real-time measurements, data logging settings, diagnostics and sensor configuration.
- The TSM2 has a 2 wire, non-polarised bus for power supply. There is no chance of incorrect wiring of positive and negative voltage because the TSM2 is non-polarised.
- The TSM2 has an internal lithium polymer battery that is kept charged by an external power supply (solar panel or mains DC power supply).
- The TSM2 is IP-65 rated and has been demonstrated to operate in extreme environmental conditions. Units are being used in diverse environments from hot Australian deserts, tropical Amazon rainforests, temperate German forests, Indian agricultural fields and North American Arctic cold.
Applications
- Plant physiology (leaf and canopy temperature)
- Soil, air and fluid temperature
- Thermistor strings for borehole monitoring
- Concrete temperature during drying
- Building energy use studies
