The SNiP-SIL4 is a 'Sensor Node Integrated Package' for LoRaWAN communication of real-time canopy temperature for continuous plant monitoring.
The SNiP-SLI4 integrates 1x S-NODE, with 1x Apogee SIL-411 Infrared Radiometer to a site’s unique network, communication and power requirements.
The Apogee SIL-411 Infrared Radiometer is an economical non-contact temperature with an SDI-12 digital output and comes with a 22 degree half angle field of view.
Applications include measuring the temperatures of road surfaces, plant canopies, and soil, snow and water surfaces. Measurement of surface temperature is a crucial component of energy transfer. Accurate measurement of the leaf-to-air temperature gradient is essential to the determination of transpiration rate and stomatal conductance in both single leaves and plant canopies.

Further parameters can be added to SNiP-SIL4, without requiring loggers to match each distinct sensor, substantially reducing the cost of getting a fuller picture on the application.
