The SNiP-PRS is 'Sensor Node Integrated Package' for LoRaWAN or CAT-M1 communication of real-time precipitation and rainfall measurements for continuous environmental monitoring of a particular site.


The base SNiP-PRS integrates 1x AD-NODE with 1x PRs-1 Small Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge to a site’s unique network, communication and power requirements.

The PRS-01 is a small rain gauge sensor with a unique single spoon tipping bucket that is a reliable low cost high quality rain gauge ideal for small weather stations, rainfall measurement, irrigation/soil moisture management and drain water measurement in drip irrigation. Comes standard as machine calibrated with 1 mm resolution. Accuracy: +/- 5 %.

Further parameters can be added to SNiP-PRS, without requiring loggers to match each distinct sensor, substantially reducing the cost of getting a fuller picture on the application.

The PRS-1 Small Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge measures the precipitation by means of a funnel (orifice 50 cm2), which leads the water down into the self-­‐emptying tipping POM bucket, held in place by a hard ferrite magnet. The magnet always exerts just enough tension to allow the measuring bucket to empty in one quick movement (less than 300 ms) and then return to its normal position, ready to once again collect precipitation. This means the counter weight always remains the same opposite to other conventional two spoons tipping bucket rain gauges.

AD-NODE: For High Resolution Analogue & Digital Sensors

The AD-NODE is designed for those requiring precision in their analogue and digital measurements. With a 24-bit ADC, the AD-NODE supports two RTDs, a 0–10V with compressing range and a 4–20mA input. Each of the four dry-contact digital inputs is capable of simultaneously sampling at 1 kHz, with periodic reporting. Settings on the device can be altered remotely via LoRaWAN™ or locally via USB.
