The SNiP-HPT is a 'Sensor Node Integrated Package' for LoRaWAN or CAT-M1 communication of real-time water levels, electrical conductivity and temperature measurements for continuous environmental water monitoring, in both ground water and surface water.


The base SNiP-HPT integrates 1x S-NODE and 1x Hydros-21 Sensor to a site’s unique network, communication and power requirements. The S-NODE can support an added 3x Sensors. The Hydros-21 Sensor has been designed to measure water levels, Electrical Conductivity and Temperature.

The S-NODE (for Environmental Monitoring) has been designed to support the broad suite of SDI-12 based environmental sensors. The S-NODE can support sensors with higher power requirements; a solar panel can charge either the internal lithium-ion battery or both the node and sensor can be powered by an external 12V system (e.g. battery or mains source).

A decoder suitable for TTN will be provided based upon sensor configuration.

HYDROS-21 Water Level Sensor

The sensor utilises a vented pressure transducer to obtain accurate water level measurements from 0 to 10m while removing the effects of barometric pressure. With a range of 0 to 120 dS/m, the HYDROS 21 sensor has the ability to make accurate electrical conductivity measurements in a broad range of applications.

The HYDROS 21 sensor is a robust, marine grade sensor, 3.4 cm in diameter. It connects by cable to an external datalogger. Much of the complex circuitry is in the data logger, lowering the cost of individual sensors without impacting their accuracy or resolution. This makes it so that instead having to rely on a single measurement, you can measure in several different locations without exceeding your budget.
