PHYTO-US (Modular Phyto-PAM)

The MODULAR version of the four wavelength PHYTO-PAM features high flexibility in choice of detection filters. This version is mainly designed for laboratory applications but as the Power-and-Control-Unit PHYTO-C is equipped with a large battery, all members of the PHYTO-PAM system may also be used in on-deck and field applications.

Advantage of the MODULAR version is the compatibility with the Temperature Control Unit US-T controlling a 30K temperature range of the suspension in the 10mm x 10mm x 45mm cuvette as well as the Miniature Magnetic Stirrer PHYTO-MS controlled by the Power-and-Control Unit PHYTO-C. Both Accessories can be used in parallel.

A basic composition of the four wavelength PHYTO-PAM MODULAR version could consist of the following components:

  • Power-and-Control-Unit PHYTO-C
  • Optical Unit ED-101US/MP with standard 10 x 10 mm quartz-cuvette) which mounts on the Stand with Base Plate ST-101
  • Photomultiplier-Detector PM-101P with filter box and special detector filter set
  • Measuring LED-Array-Cone PHYTO-ML, for fluorescence excitation with blue (470 nm), green (520 nm), light red (645 nm) and dark red light (665 nm); with additional red LEDs (655 nm) for actinic illumination (up to 550 μmol m-2 s-1; to be attached to the Optical Unit ED-101US/MP. If higher PAR rates shall be achieved, the additional Actinic LED-Array-Cone PHYTO-AL has to be used, providing up to 2000 μmol m-2 s-1.

The system can be extended by the Temperature Control Unit US-T, the Miniature Magnetic Stirrer PHYTO-MS as well as other optional components as mentioned in the accessories page.
