Tensiometer Transducers

Tensiometer Transducers for soil water potential
Transducers for use with Soil Moisture Equipment TS25 Jetfill Tensiometers
Jetfill Tensiometer with GT3 vacuum pressure transducer
The GT3 Transducer and 8472 Vacuum Pressure Transducer are compatible with the Soil Moisture Equipment TS25 Jetfill tensiometers. Able to measure soil water potential between -100kPa and +100kPa (range depending on variation), the transducers allow for connection into either Internet of Things or datalogger solutions for either field or laboratory applications. Measuring the vacuum that is formed in the Jetfill tensiometer, the pressure transducers output an analogue voltage signal that can be used with common data loggers or ICT International IoT Nodes Compatible with:
  • ICT International IoT Nodes
  • Common data loggers
The transducers output either an analogue voltage (GT3-15) or a 4-20mA (8472) signal.

Compatible with the Jetfill Tensiometer, the GT3 and ECT Transducer are ideal for use within IoT systems and dataloggers where consistent and reliable data collection is needed.

Resolution and Accuracy: GT3 Tensiometer Transducer

A resolution of 0.1 kPa (1 cm H2O) can be attained for the GT3 Tensiometer Transducer. The accuracy obtained is related to the calibration and resolution of the Analogue to Digital converter. In field applications the values obtained should consider the shaft/cup length of the tensiometer: 1 cm = 0.1 kPa.

  • Pressure change from 0 to -100 kPa
  • Output from 0 to -100 mV

Transducer GT3-15 connection

  • Red: +10 V power supply
  • Yellow: Signal output “+”
  • Black: Battery ground
  • Blue: Signal output “-”
  • Do not connect signal output “-” to battery ground

The vacuum inside the tensiometer is measured by a pressure transducer, which gives a continuous analogue output signal. A resolution of 0.1 kPa (1 cm H2O) can be attained for the GT3 Tensiometer Transducer.
