LIGNOVISION™

Rinntech's LIGNOVISION tree ring analysis software provides an automatic detection of tree growth rings for use in dendroecology and dendroclimatology.

Suitable for use on softwoods, and some hardwoods, LIGNOVISION detects the width of the tree rings, including the early and autumn wood, automatically. When this is not possible, manual entry and classification can be used to record the data

Using images from either high-resolution scanners or distortion free digital photographs, the LIGNOVISION software measures stem disks, sections, or increment cores.

Once the images have been captured, the ring-width and tree-ring density parameters can be saved as time-series as well as grey-scale, density and colour-channel-profiles in readable Heidelberg ASCII-format (.FH)

The LIGNOVISION is available in 3 versions:

• LIGNOVISION Pro: Manual setting of tree ring borders and saving of ring-width curve.
• LIGNOVISION Expert: Manual setting of tree ring borders and saving of ring-width curve.
  Automatic tree-ring detection in grey-scale profile. Saving of grey-scale profile and tree-ring density parameters.
• LIGNOVISION Science: Manual setting of tree ring borders and saving of ring-width curve.
  Automatic tree-ring detection in grey-scale profile. Saving of grey-scale profile and tree-ring density parameters.
  Density calibration of grey-scale profile (for example from x-ray scans) + Display, analysis, saving of density + colour-channel profiles (RED-GREEN-BLUE) with tree-ring density profile parameters.
