Internet of Things Nodes
IoT Nodes for soil, plant, and environment sensors
The Internet of Things Nodes from ICT International connect soil, plant, and environment sensors to the internet via LoRaWAN or NB-IoT/CAT-M1 networks. LoRaWAN provides capability for full remote configuration through downlinks, including enabling/disabling confirmed messaging and changing the report interval. Cat-M1/NB-IoT provides the option for remote installation in areas outside the range of LoRaWAN networks.
The nodes are purpose designed for sensors that use standard outputs. Depending on node, they are compatible with SDI-12, analogue, digital, 4-20mA, thermistor, or frequency sensors.
Integrated into the ICT Internet IoT solutions, the nodes can also be used to update and upgrade existing sensor networks, replacing either data loggers or end of life telemetry systems.
ICT International IoT Nodes are available as the:
- AD-Node: Accurate analogue and digital measurements with LoRaWAN connectivity
- MFR-NODE: IoT Node for use with SDI-12 and analogue inputs, and cellular (CAT-M1/NB-IoT) or LoRaWAN connectivity
- S-NODE: IoT Node for SDI-12 environmental sensors, with cellular (CAT-M1/NB-IoT) or LoRaWAN connectivity
AD-Node: Accurate analogue and digital measurements with LoRaWAN connectivity
The AD-NODE is designed for those requiring precision in their analogue and digital measurements. With a 24-bit ADC, the AD-NODE supports two Thermistors, two 0–1.5V Analogue inputs and a 4–20mA input. Each of the four dry-contact digital inputs is capable of simultaneously sampling at 1 kHz, with periodic reporting. Settings on the device can be altered remotely via LoRaWAN™ or locally via USB.
The AD-NODE is ideally suited to the following applications, and sensors:
- Dendrometry, supporting up to 2 x DBV60 Band Dendrometers.
- Soil Moisture, supporting 1 x MP406
- Microclimate, supporting the ATH-2A for accurate air temperature and relative humidity
- Water level, supporting the ECL 8439 Submersible Pressure Transmitter
MFR-NODE: IoT Node for use with SDI-12 and analogue inputs
The MFR-NODE supports sensors with higher power requirements; a solar panel can charge either the internal lithium-ion battery or both the node and sensor can be powered by an external DC power system (e.g. battery or mains source). With an onboard SD-Card, the MFR-NODE provides stand-alone data logging capabilities and full data redundancy in the event of temporary loss of communications or dropped packets – ideal for research applications. Data is stored in csv format for ease of use.
The MFR-NODE has been designed to provide flexible communication, sensor and power options. The MFR-NODE supports SDI-12, four 32-bit dry-contact counting digital inputs and four single-ended (two differential) 0 – 3 V analogue inputs, with selectable 12 V, 5 V or 2.5 V excitation and a 0-100khz frequency input.
S-NODE: IoT Node for SDI-12 environmental sensors
The S-NODE has been designed to support the broad suite of SDI-12 based environmental sensors and includes four on-board sensor inputs and the capacity to support additional sensors which are bussed externally. With a power system based upon either a 6.5 Ah or 13A h rechargeable lithium-ion battery or external DC power source, the S-NODE can support those sensors with higher power requirements.
