Apogee Pyrgeometers

Pyrgeometers for the measurement of longwave solar radiation
Apogee SL-510-Upward looking Pyrgeometer
Measuring longwave radiation, the Apogee pyrgeometers are calibrated with traceability to the World Infrared Standard Group in Davos. Designed for long-term installation, the Apogee pyrgeometers contain features to ensure ease of maintenance and reliable measurements. With a domed sensor head (on the upward-facing version) to promote water runoff, and a heater element to minimize errors from frost, dew, rain or snow, the sensors are designed to be used in agricultural, ecological and hydrological weather networks.

About the sensors

SL-610-SS: Downward-facing Pyrgeometer

The SL-610 is a downward-looking thermopile pyrgeometer. The sensor incorporates a filter, blackbody thermopile detector, and thermistor with a rugged, self-cleaning sensor housing design, and high-quality cable terminating in pre-tinned pigtail leads for easy connection to dataloggers and controllers. Typical applications include longwave radiation measurement in agricultural, ecological, and hydrological weather networks and renewable energy applications. Sensor includes IP68 marine-grade stainless-steel cable connector 25 cm from head to simplify sensor removal and replacement for maintenance and recalibration.

SL-510-SS: Upward-facing pyrgeometer

The SL-510 is an upward-looking thermopile pyrgeometer. Sensor includes IP68 marine-grade stainless-steel cable connector 30 cm from head to simplify sensor removal and replacement for maintenance and recalibration.
