Enabling better global research outcomes in soil, plant & environmental monitoring.

Horticultural research and industry

ICT International is a recognized world leading manufacturer of precision scientific instruments for horticulture research and for growers in the horticulture industry. ICT International has sensors, data loggers and instruments which can accurately measure plant water use (sap flow), plant hydration (plant water potential), dendrometers, soil water content and potential, fluorescence and reflectance (including NDVI), infrared temperature, light interception, leaf area and LAI, soil oxygen content, infiltration and hydraulic conductivity, and numerous other parameters.

ICT International’s AWS Automatic Weather Station is the only weather station available which has been custom designed to accurately measure Penman-Monteith Evapotranspiration. Parameters such as crop factor (Kc), crop height and elevation can be easily entered by the user. Precision sensors are also used to accurately measure solar radiation, wind speed, temperature and relative humidity. With the Data View Software, data from the AWS can be sent remotely to any computer in the world via the internet.

ICT International instruments have been specifically involved in the monitoring and measurement of crops such as almonds, avocados, coffee, apples, citrus (oranges and mandarins), olives, papaya, macadamias, tomatoes, table grapes and wine grapes, squash, and stone fruits. Researchers using ICT International equipment have published data in world leading peer review journals such as New Phytologist, Acta Horticulturae, Tree Physiology, Functional Biology, Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research, and numerous others.
