The Leaf Temperature Sensor is a very small thermistor that can be adhered to a leaf surface. The absolute temperature of the leaf at the surface is measured.
The adherence and small size enable accurate measurement. The adherence means that the boundary layer is not disrupted.
The small size has almost no thermal mass resulting in measurements that have not influenced the temperature environment and which are very responsive to leaf temperature changes.
